Acts 12:5
Peter was therefore kept in prison, but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church.
Acts 12:5
At this time, King Herod brought much persecution to the church. He had just killed James, and arrested Peter also. Surely the same fate was awaiting Peter. Under the heavy persecution, and experiencing the pain of loss, the church doesn’t try to riot or revolt to save Peter. They didn’t scheme how they could overthrow the king and charge the prison. Rather, they fought the battle through prayer.
They knew they could not fight the spiritual battle they faced with fleshly weapons. What a lesson that is for us today. The bible says we do not wrestle against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness. Therefore, we cannot fight spiritual battles with the weapons of our flesh. We must be strong in prayer, strong in God’s Word, and strong in faith knowing that with God all things are possible.
What battles are you facing in life? Know that God has provided spiritual weapons for you to have victory today.
