Psalms 30:2

Psalms 30:2

Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You healed me.

Psalms 30:2

There are many psalms where David recounts the faithfulness of God, but this one verse in chapter 30 is packed with so much truth. David first says, “Lord MY God”, showing his personal relationship with the Lord. Next, he says, “I cried to You for help”. Notice how he goes to the Lord in his time of need. Also, David expressed his need to His Heavenly Father. He doesn’t just sit with it alone; he invites his God into his affliction.

And finally, we see the power of God, “You healed me”. Because David was willing to take his need to the Lord, he got the opportunity to see God move. It reminds me of the old hymn “What a Friend we have in Jesus”. Let us carry everything to our Lord today, for He hears us and is able to heal.

What a Friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

  Everything to God in prayer!

O what peace we often forfeit,

O what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer!
