Psalm 23:5

Psalm 23:5

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Psalm 23:5

In Psalm 23:5, David speaks of God spreading out a table before him with his enemies sitting right there on the other side. This image of intimate fellowship amidst adversity is powerful. In Revelation 3:20, we’re reminded of Jesus standing at the door, knocking, desiring to come in and eat with us. How ironic that in the middle of life’s battles, God invites us to intimate fellowship with Him. But how often do you accept this invitation?

How important it is to create space for uninterrupted time with God. As you “dine” with Him through prayer and His Word, share your heart openly. Listen for His voice. Let Him anoint your head with oil – protecting your mind from worry and filling you with His peace.
