1 Peter 1:3-4

1 Peter 1:3-4

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.

1 Peter 1:3-4

At the beginning of his letter to a persecuted church, Peter speaks of a “living hope” and an inheritance that can never perish, spoil, or fade. Peter is tilting our eyes heavenward. This hope isn’t wishful thinking, but a confident, living expectation of God’s promises. So how do you think this perspective of eternal hope might change your view of the things you are going through today?

We always seem to do better when we have something to look forward to. So try making a list today of areas where you need that kind of hope and pray for God to renew your trust in His unfading promises. There will be a day when your faith will be replaced with seeing Jesus face to face. You will no longer need it because the culmination of it will be right there in front of you.
