1 Peter 1:6-8a

1 Peter 1:6-8a

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love.

1 Peter 1:6-8a

Have you been going though it lately? As we face various trials, Peter reminds us that our faith is being refined like gold in the fire. The fires of our life purify our faith. Charles Spurgeon said, “The refiner is never very far from the mouth of the furnace when his gold is in the fire.” So, God stays close to us as we are being refined.

So, what is a current challenge in your life?  How might God be using this difficulty to strengthen your faith? Don’t forget that your tested faith is “more precious than gold” to God. Despite not seeing Jesus physically, we can love Him and rejoice with “inexpressible joy.” Take a moment to express your love for Christ and find joy in His presence, even amidst your struggles.
