Genesis 20:1-2
And Abraham journeyed from there to the South, and dwelt between Kadesh and Shur, and stayed in Gerar. Now Abraham said of Sarah his wife, “She is my sister.” And Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
Genesis 20:1-2
This is the second time Abraham left the land of promise, venture to pagan territory and lied about his wife to save his own skin. The story of Abraham and Sarah reminds us that God works through imperfect people and imperfect marriages. Despite their failings, God used them mightily. This should encourage us in our own struggles.
We’ve all had areas where we’ve failed in our relationships or spiritual walk. But when we confess and repent God is always there to extend grace. He in turn expects us to extend that same kind of grace to others. Remember, our weaknesses often become the very places where God’s strength shines through most clearly. Is the Lord wanting to use even your imperfections for His glory? Of course He does.
