Psalm 103:1, 4-5

Psalm 103:1, 4-5

Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name!…Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

Psalm 103:1, 4-5

In the story of the paralytic, Jesus addressed the deeper need—forgiveness of sins—before healing his physical body. Today’s Psalm reminds us that God “forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.” While we often focus on our physical needs, God is equally (if not more) concerned with our spiritual well-being.

Before Jesus fixes our circumstances, He wants to deal with the condition of our souls. So, we should take time to examine our hearts. Are there areas where we need God’s forgiveness and spiritual healing that are more pressing than the circumstances around us? Confess these to Him, trusting in His complete forgiveness. Thank God for His holistic care for you—body, mind, and spirit. Ask Him to help you prioritize your spiritual health as you seek His healing in all areas of your life.
