James 5:14-15

James 5:14-15

Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

James 5:14-15

The four friends in Mark’s account of Jesus healing the paralytic, didn’t just pray him—they took action to bring him to Jesus. James encourages us to pray for one another and confess our sins to each other, emphasizing the power of communal faith. Who in your life needs to be “carried” to Jesus today? It might be through intercessory prayer, a word of encouragement, or practical help.

And what about those times when you might need support from fellow believers? Humility in asking for help can be an act of faith. So pray for opportunities to both give and receive support within your faith community. Ask God to use you as an instrument of His healing and grace in others’ lives.
