Colossians 3:1-2

If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.

Do you think there might be some things around us that would distract us from our walks with the Lord? Paul’s exhortation to “seek those things which are above” echoes Jesus’ warning about not being consumed by earthly cares. In a world that constantly demands our attention and allegiance, we’re called to a higher perspective. Our true life is hidden with Christ in God – that is our ultimate reality.

So, to apply this, how can you practically set your mind on heavenly things? It might mean starting your day in prayer before checking the news, or intentionally looking for God’s hand in your circumstances. As you do this, notice how it changes your outlook on the challenges you face. Let the promise of Christ’s return and our future glory with Him be an anchor for your soul amidst life’s storms.
