Psalm 16:9-11
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope. For You will not leave my soul in Sheol, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.
Psalm 16:9-11
Today’s passage reminds us that in God’s presence, there is fullness of joy. Just as Jesus emphasized the joy of the bridegroom’s presence, when He comes for His church, we too can experience deep joy in our relationship with God. Remember, joy is not happiness because that depends on something happening. Joy is rather a confident assurance in something that will not change, and that of course is Jesus our bridegroom.
There have been those times for all of us when we’ve felt God’s presence most strongly. How did it affect your mood, your outlook, your faith? Be assured that as believers, we have the constant presence of the Holy Spirit within us. So you can consciously acknowledge and practice God’s presence in your life, and let that awareness fill you with joy, even in challenging circumstances.
