2 Timothy 4:6-8

2 Timothy 4:6-8

For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.

2 Timothy 4:6-8

As we conclude this week, let’s consider Peter’s example of faithful service until the end. Like Peter, Paul also wrote powerful words as he neared the end of his life. People’s last words are some of the most profound words in all the Bible. For those of you who know people who have walked closely to the heart of God, to get to be at the bedside of a dying man or woman who has walked with the Lord faithfully and served Him powerfully, to be the one blessed to hear those last words is a profound experience. And so, we get Paul’s declaration that he has “fought the good fight” and “kept the faith.” How do you want to finish your race? What legacy of faith do you want to leave?

But don’t wait until the end, start today to evaluate your current priorities and commitments. Are they aligned with God’s calling on your life? Ask God to show you areas where you can be more faithful in serving Him. It’s not about grand gestures, but about consistent, humble obedience. Commit to finishing well and relying on God’s grace and power every step of the way.
