1 John 4:7-8, 11
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. He who does not love does not know God, for God is love… Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.
1 John 4:7-8, 11
Love is the pinnacle of Christian virtues. It started with God; He loved us first and demonstrated through the sacrifice of His Son how we are to love. Love is sacrificial. It would be good to take some time and reflect on how God has shown His love to you, especially through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
How can you express that love to others today? Consider someone in your life who is difficult to love. Ask God to help you see them through His eyes and to love them with His love. We don’t have to love others for God’s sake; we just need to let Him love others through us. Remember, our capacity to love others is directly related to our experience of God’s love for us.
