Matthew 12:46-50

Matthew 12:46-50

While He was still talking to the multitudes, behold, His mother and brothers stood outside, seeking to speak with Him. Then one said to Him, “Look, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside, seeking to speak with You.” But He answered and said to the one who told Him, “Who is My mother and who are My brothers?” And He stretched out His hand toward His disciples and said, “Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother.”

Matthew 12:46-50

Jesus redefined family as those who do God’s will. This doesn’t negate biological family but elevates spiritual bonds. How do you experience this spiritual family in your life? If you’re blessed with believing family members, thank God for this double bond. You can pray for their salvation while cherishing your spiritual family.

You’ve all heard the statement that blood is thicker than water, and also, that the kingdom of God’s spirit is thicker than blood. Because you have a deeper relationship oftentimes with those who walk in the will of God than your own family. Today, reach out to a fellow believer who has been like family to you, and express your gratitude for their presence in your life.
