Mark 4:1-20

Mark 4:1-20

Then He taught them many things by parables, and said to them in His teaching:

Listen! Behold, a Sower went out to sow…

Mark 4:1-20

As we read the Parable of the Sower, we’re invited to examine the condition of our own hearts. Are we like the hard soil, where God’s Word can’t penetrate? Or the shallow soil, quick to receive but lacking depth? Perhaps we’re the thorny soil, where worldly concerns choke out spiritual growth. The condition of the soil is up to you and me. It’s up to us. Do we want the word of God to change and transform our lives? God desires for us to be the good soil, receptive and fruitful.

If you’re not certain where you might fall in this parable, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of hardness, shallowness, or distraction in your heart. You may already know where you need supernatural help. Either way pray for a softened, deepened, and focused heart that can truly receive and act upon God’s Word.
