Psalm 46:1-3
God is our refuge and strength, A very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, Even though the earth be removed, And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though its waters roar and be troubled, Though the mountains shake with its swelling.
Psalm 46:1-3
Jesus certainly believed in and practiced this Psalm. The image of Jesus sleeping peacefully during the storm in Mark 4:35-40, illustrates the profound peace available to those who trust in God’s sovereign care. While the disciples panicked, Jesus rested, knowing He was in the Father’s will.
This psalm echoes that assurance for us, declaring God as our refuge and strength no matter what we face. Are you confronted with a situation today where you need to experience God’s peace? Take time to be still before God (Psalm 46:10), and in that stillness you’ll find His presence and His loving control over your daily life.
