Psalm 121:1-8
I will lift up my eyes to the hills— From whence comes my help? My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel Shall neither slumber nor sleep. The Lord is your keeper; The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, Nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your He shall preserve your soul. From this time forth, and even forevermore.
Psalm 121:1-8
In times of uncertainty and difficulty, it’s easy to become overwhelmed by the challenges we face. The psalmist reminds us to lift our eyes to God, the source of our help and strength. The Lord is your protector. Our hope in His ability to keep us is what keeps us grounded in days of uncertainty, in the presence of difficulty. As you read this psalm, reflect on areas in your life where you may be looking to “the hills”—worldly solutions or temporary fixes—rather than to God.
How can you intentionally shift your focus to the Lord today? Remember, He is your helper, protector, and keeper. Take a moment to list specific ways God has been your helper in the past, and pray for the faith to trust Him with your present concerns.
