1 Kings 18:7-9, 15
Now as Obadiah was on his way, suddenly Elijah met him; and he recognized him, and fell on his face, and said, “Is that you, my lord Elijah?” And he answered him, “It is I. Go, tell your master, ‘Elijah is here.’” So he said, “How have I sinned, that you are delivering your servant into the hand of Ahab, to kill me?… Then Elijah said, “As the Lord of hosts lives, before whom I stand, I will surely present myself to him today.”
1 Kings 18:7-9, 15
Elijah’s return to confront Ahab required immense courage and faith. He stood firm in his convictions despite being outnumbered and facing powerful opposition. In our own lives, we’re often called to stand for truth in hostile environments. Our effectiveness in the days that we’re living in is directly linked to our obedience
Today, consider areas where you might be tempted to compromise your faith for the sake of comfort or acceptance. With God’s help you can gain the courage to stand firm, remembering that He is with you even when you feel alone. Pray for discernment to know when to speak and when to be silent, always letting your actions reflect your faith.
