Mark 6:33-34

Mark 6:33-34

But the multitudes saw them departing, and many knew Him and ran there on foot from all the cities. They arrived before them and came together to Him. And Jesus, when He came out, saw a great multitude and was moved with compassion for them, because they were like sheep not having a shepherd. So He began to teach them many things.

Mark 6:33-34

How do you think Jesus views our present-day world? Would it be any different, than when He walked this earth? Jesus’ compassion for the multitude reminds us of His deep love for humanity. When He saw the crowd, He was “moved with compassion” because they were like sheep without a shepherd. This imagery speaks to our own spiritual condition without Christ.

We have all experienced those times when we’ve felt lost or directionless. How did God’s compassion reach you in those moments? With those tender moments in mind, how can you extend Christ-like compassion to others who may be feeling lost or shepherd-less in their lives? Remember, just as Jesus saw beyond the surface to the hearts of individuals, we too are called to look deeper and respond with love and understanding to those around us.
