Romans 8:35, 37-39

Romans 8:35, 37-39

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?… Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Romans 8:35, 37-39

Paul’s powerful words remind us that nothing can separate us from God’s love, not even the most intense suffering. Like Jesus walking on the water above the storm, God remains sovereign over our trials. While He may not always calm the storm immediately, He promises to be with us in it. Jesus never leaves you in difficulty longer than the intended lesson takes.

Reflect on a current struggle in your life. How might God be using this difficulty to reveal more of His nature to you? Remember, your suffering is not meaningless—it’s an opportunity for God to display His power and love. Today, choose to trust in God’s presence and purpose, even when you can’t see or understand His plan. End your devotional time by declaring aloud the truths from Romans 8:38-39, personalizing them for your own situation.
