Mark 7:32-35

Mark 7:32-35

Then they brought to Him one who was deaf and had an impediment in his speech, and they begged Him to put His hand on him. And He took him aside from the multitude, and put His fingers in his ears, and He spat and touched his tongue. Then, looking up to heaven, He sighed, and said to him, “Ephphatha,” that is, “Be opened.” Immediately his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was loosed, and he spoke plainly.
Mark 7:32-35

Jesus didn’t hesitate to touch the man who was deaf and mute. His touch was both powerful and compassionate. The way Jesus heals this man reveals more to us about the Lord than the miracle itself. You could say this, that the miracle reveals His power, but how He performs this miracle reveals his nature.
In a world that often feels isolating, Jesus reaches out to us personally. He’s not afraid of our brokenness or limitations.

Are there areas in your life where you feel untouchable or unworthy? Invite Jesus to touch those places with His compassion and healing power. And with that assurance, how can you extend Christ’s compassionate touch to others today?
