2 Corinthians 6:17-7:1

Therefore “Come out from among them And be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, And I will receive you.” “I will be a Father to you, And you shall be My sons and daughters, Says the Lord Almighty.” Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Hope, in Scripture isn’t wishful thinking—it’s confident assurance of receiving what we’ve hoped for. Everyone who possesses this hope in Christ purifies himself. This is sanctification as both position and process. You’ve been set apart from the world and set apart unto Christ. But sanctification requires your participation. The hope of seeing Christ face-to-face should inspire you to remove every defilement that clouds your vision of God. Pray David’s prayer: “Search me, O God, and know my heart.” When God reveals areas needing purification, don’t despair—He shows you so He can empower you for victory. You’re not saved only from sin’s penalty but also from its power. Pursue holiness with hopeful confidence.
