The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid?

In seasons of darkness and uncertainty, David proclaimed a powerful truth: “The Lord is my light and my salvation.” Notice he didn’t say God gives light—he said God IS light. When fear threatens to overwhelm you, remember that God himself becomes your illumination in the darkness. David faced a king’s army hunting him, yet he chose to declare God’s sufficiency over his circumstances. 

Whatever darkness surrounds you, speak this truth aloud: “The Lord is my light. He is my salvation. He is my strength.” Faith and fear battle for mastery of your soul—which will you choose? Don’t doubt in the dark what God showed you in the light. Turn to Him and He will brighten your path.
