2 Corinthians 12:7-9

And lest I should be exalted above measure by the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, a messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I be exalted above measure. Concerning this thing I pleaded with the Lord three times that it might depart from me. And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Paul discovered a profound truth: God’s power is perfected in weakness. The cross you’re called to carry isn’t your difficult circumstances—it’s the suffering permitted because you follow Jesus. Spiritual warfare, misunderstanding from loved ones, sacrifice for the gospel—these are the crosses of discipleship. But here’s the promise: “The sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that shall be revealed in us.” (Romans 8:18)

Your cross is the platform for God’s power. When you stop resisting the suffering God permits and instead accept it with open hands, you position yourself to experience resurrection power. Today, instead of fighting against your difficulty, pray: “Lord, I accept what You’re permitting. Show me Your power in my weakness.”
