2 Corinthians 4:16-17

Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. 17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

2 Corinthians 4:16-17

The Christian life is not only about cross-bearing and self-denial—it’s also about glory and power. Peter, James, and John witnessed Jesus transfigured in glory because they followed Him up the mountain. The disciples experienced Pentecostal power because they remained obedient. God’s blessings always outweigh His requirements. What you see in the moment—the difficulty, the sacrifice, the suffering—is temporary. What you cannot yet see—the glory, the fruit, the eternal weight—is permanent and incomparable.

Jesus becomes that perfect example, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross. He saw beyond the suffering to the glory. Fix your eyes on what’s ahead. The abundant life Jesus promises isn’t conditional upon easy seasons—it’s available in every season when you walk in surrender, acceptance, and obedience. Today, worship Him for what’s coming. The best is yet ahead.
