Colossians 1:17-20
And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
Colossians 1:17-20
The description that Paul gives of Jesus puts emphasis on Christ’s eternity and deity. Reread the verses and meditate on Jesus’ supremacy over all things. Doesn’t it give great comfort to know that the One to whom we’ve surrendered our lives has pre-existed even the earth itself and will continue to be with us forever? How does that truth impact your faith?
This revelation should bring comfort and stability to us especially during uncertain times. Everything around us may crumble but Jesus never will. Our most reliable relationships may abandon us but Jesus never will. So today, pray for a greater appreciation of Christ’s eternal power and presence in your daily walk and watch it strengthen your faith.
