Colossians 1:9-11

Colossians 1:9-11

For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and long-suffering with joy

Colossians 1:9-11

Peter in his second letter, emphasizes the importance of growing in the knowledge of God. This isn’t just head knowledge, but a deep, experiential understanding that transforms our every decision and action. As you read today’s verses, notice that Paul prays for the Colossians to be “filled with the knowledge of His will.” What kind of radical changes would happen in your life if you pursued this kind of intimate knowledge of God?

In your time of quiet and devotion, ask God to reveal Himself to you in new ways. As you go about your day, be intentional about seeing God’s hand in your circumstances and interactions. See if that draws you closer to His character and attributes. Remember, the more we know Him, the more we can walk in a manner worthy of Him.
