Colossians 2:6-8

Colossians 2:6-8

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving. Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

Colossians 2:6-8

It’s always easier to pull someone down than it is to pull someone up. Paul warns about those who will abandon the faith, following deceiving spirits. In contrast, he encourages believers to be nourished on the truths of faith. In our information-saturated age, how can we ensure we’re feeding on truth?

The answer is also the question. What is your spiritual diet? Are you regularly in God’s Word, allowing it to shape your worldview? Are cultural philosophies influencing you more than Scripture? Do a quick calculation of your time in God’s Word and your time in the world’s media. If the balance doesn’t fall heavy on the side of Scripture you may want to tip the scale and fill your heart with God’s truth.
