Ephesians 5:20-21
Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, submitting to one another in the fear of God.
Ephesians 5:20-21
The concept of submission often meets resistance in our culture, yet biblical submission is rooted in strength, not weakness. It mirrors Christ’s own submission to the Father’s will. And when we walk in true thanksgiving to the Father, our submission to Him will be a natural next step.
So, then you might wonder how submission to God, your spouse and proper authority in your life can actually be an expression of spiritual strength. Well how might your relationships – in marriage, at work, or in the church – be transformed if you approached them with an attitude of Christ-like submission? Remember Jesus laid down His life for us in His submission to the Father. True submission is always first to God, which then influences all our other relationships.
