Esther 4:14b

Esther 4:14b

Yet who knows whether you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Esther 4:14b

One of the most difficult things that goes hand in hand with walking by faith is when uncertain times fall upon us. To follow Jesus and trust that He holds us firmly in His hands can be intimidating when a very real world is presented before us. It is in those times, we must remember that “God is the one who fights for us” (Exodus 14:14)Walking by faith will require us trusting in God even when it doesn’t make sense in the moment, to us or anyone else. The book of Esther tells the story of bravery and being willing to go when called.

The book holds a few interpretive challenges that might cause some to dismiss it. The author is unknown, the mention of God is not found, and neither Esther nor Mordecai are found standing up for their Jewish heritage or the Law given by Moses while in the presence of King Ahasuerus. Nevertheless, because of Esther’s bravery in approaching the king, Mordecai’s life was saved as well as the lives of the Jewish people. Not knowing why God sends us where He does is not always for us to know. We are to be obedient and trust that in His perfect time He uses us. Maybe God is calling to you or sending you to a place that might seem unfriendly. But remember, it might be for His purpose, for such a time as this.

God Bless,
