Esther 4:15-16
Then Esther told them to reply to Mordecai: “Go, gather all the Jews who are present in Shushan, and fast for me; neither eat nor drink for three days, night or day. My maids and I will fast likewise. And so I will go to the king, which is against the law; and if I perish, I perish!”
Esther 4:15-16
In the book of Esther, we see the great story of God’s provision for His people. He knew of their need for a savior long before they did. The Jewish people were going to be killed throughout the empire, but Esther, a young Jewish girl, was made queen and was able to attain an audience with the king and convince him otherwise. In verse 16, she prepares herself for this meeting with the king. She and all her people fast in preparation for her to step out in faith. In the end, she says, “And if I perish, I perish!” She knows she might die for going before the king, but she leaves it all in God’s hands. She lets God decide the outcome, knowing that He is in control.
We also need to have that same mindset when we step out in faith. Whatever happens, God is in control, and no matter what happens to us, He is good, and He will be glorified in the end.
