Genesis 40:6-7

Genesis 40:6-7

And Joseph came in to them in the morning and looked at them, and saw that they were sad. So he asked Pharaoh’s officers who were with him in the custody of his lord’s house, saying, “Why do you look so sad today?

Genesis 40:6-7

At this point in Joseph’s life, he had been sold into slavery, falsely accused and thrown into prison. He had every reason to be bitter and selfish.  Instead, he chose to trust the Lord and keep his heart open to the things (or people) God might send his way.  When Pharaoh’s butler and baker (who had also been thrown into prison) had disturbing dreams through the night, Joseph noticed their sad expression and asked a simple question.  “Wuz up?”  They told him the dreams, and through God’s intervention, Joseph was able to interpret them.

Are we willing to have Joseph’s attitude no matter what our circumstances may be?  Are we willing to be a part of God’s answer for someone else?  Are we willing to look outside of our own dilemma to see if someone around us is sad and in need of encouragement?  Be a Joseph for someone today.

Willing to be part of God’s solution.
