Genesis 6:5, 7-8
Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually… So the Lord said, “I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth, both man and beast, creeping thing and birds of the air, for I am sorry that I have made them.” But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.
Genesis 6:5, 7-8
Can we conclude together that the world around us is as unhinged and ungodly as it has ever been? Noah’s faithfulness in a world consumed by wickedness reminds us of our calling to stand firm in our faith, even when surrounded by corruption. Just as Noah walked with God and remained righteous, we too are called to live distinctly from the world and its lures. Your faithfulness to the work that God has called you to do, your faithfulness to your relationship with Jesus has greater implications than you understand.
Have there been times in your life when you were tempted to compromise your faith just to fit in? And how did that go? We are called, like Noah, be a “preacher of righteousness” in our sphere of influence? Keeping in mind that our faithfulness not only impacts our own life but can also influence those around us, just as Noah’s obedience saved his family.
