Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much more as you see the Day approaching.
Hebrews 10:24-25
Have you noticed that it is not always easy being a Christian? That’s why we need help. We need Jesus, we need God’s Word, and we need each other. Here in Hebrews 10, Paul writes that we should not only assemble regularly together as Christians, but we are to exhort one another as well. This word exhort means to “urge or encourage another person.”
As we read and meditate on God’s Word, He speaks to us. He speaks to us through His word and sometimes He will speak to us through fellow believers, our brothers and sisters. I can remember many times in my walk with the Lord where He used a casual conversation with another believer to speak words that I needed to hear. Sometimes it was words of encouragement and sometimes words of confirmation. God uses Christians to exhort one another.
Think of a time when someone’s words of encouragement strengthened your faith. We have all experienced that. What a blessing to know that the Lord uses us that way. So today, seek to be an encourager. Reach out to a brother or sister with a word of encouragement based on Scripture. Share a bible verse with them. And as you do, remember that you’re not just offering kind words, but potentially being a vessel for God’s voice in their life.
Seeking to be an encouragement,
