Hebrews 12:15

Hebrews 12:15

Looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled.

Hebrews 12:15

God’s grace is both sufficient and in abundant supply. Even at our worst, God can save each one of us. For daily need, there is daily grace; for sudden need, sudden grace; and for overwhelming need, there is overwhelming grace. We need to help one another turn constantly to the grace of God — through confessing our sin so He might wash us and restore us to staying in fellowship and practicing His love, and to staying in the Word so we might grow together in Him.

The danger comes when we fall short of the grace of God, meaning we turn from His sufficiency and grace to the lies of the world and the ways of our flesh. The example that follows the above verse (Hebrews 12:16-18) is the choice Esau made and the bitterness that was found in him as he reaped the reward of his choices. His bitterness defiled an entire household for years to come. May you enjoy and share His sufficient grace in every situation God places you.

All about His grace!
