Hebrews 3:14-15
For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, while it is said: “Today, if you will hear His voice, Do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion.”
Hebrews 3:14-15
We are not meant to be spectators but participants in the arena of Christian life. It’s not how many times you stumble in between; it’s how you hold to your faith from beginning to the end. Our holding fast proves to ourselves and others that we are truly saved. Our salvation is in and through Christ; thus, we can be as secure as Christ Himself.
We’re to hurry, as it were, to make sure of our standing in Christ. God never promises tomorrow. Now is the time to settle eternal matters, not tomorrow or next week or after pondering the pros and cons. To delay is to allow hardness to set in like rigor mortis until our faith and obedience become lifeless. It’s all the more reason to hear God’s voice through His Word and examine our heart condition daily for signs of hardening.
