Hebrews 9:27-28
And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.
Hebrews 9:27-28
Here is a word of warning – we only get one lifetime to get this right. Within that lifetime we make millions of choices. If you choose to indulge in the pleasures of the world rather than come to Christ, the end will inevitably come and then you’ll face the judgment. People who ignore God now will face Him in judgment then. People who acknowledge God now will face Him in acceptance then. The world says (Ecclesiastes 8:15), “Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die.” Hebrews 9 says, “Stop, think, and be wary, for tomorrow we die.”
But here’s the good news we should share with the world around us. Tomorrow’s judgment is escapable because today’s sin is forgivable. Man dies only once and then faces the judgment; Christ can die only once and only once must He bear sin’s penalty. But one day, like the high priest appearing out of the Tabernacle on the Day of Atonement, so Jesus will appear in the air for His own. So, as we’re eagerly waiting, let’s be faithfully sharing. We only get one chance.
Taking my chances the right way,
