One of James’ key issues in writing his short epistle is to drive home the understanding that our faith in Jesus as our Lord and Savior must result in changes in our behavior and lifestyle. After all, when we are born-again, the Holy Spirit comes to take up residence in our hearts as His home. He provides wisdom in spiritual understanding, power to obey the Word of God, and fruit that evidences His presence in our lives. If He lives in you, He will be impossible to hide! Jesus said we will know them by their fruits. James says the same thing here: Jesus in your life will change your ways and be seen in your works.
What about you, says you belong to Him? What do people see that would convince them to turn to Jesus as you have for eternal life? Preach Him today, starting with your actions that cry out, He lives in me!
Wanting Jesus to show in my life,
