James 4:7-8

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

James 4:7-8

We all approve of the idea of resisting the devil. But is that even possible? The process and the promise are actually simple. There will be no resisting until there is substantial submitting. But if you think about it, when we fully draw near to God in our quiet time or daily activities there will be no room for the devil and his lies. He has to flee.

As you come before God today, allow His presence to search your heart. Are there areas you’ve been hiding from Him? Resist the enemy’s lies that you’re too far gone, and instead, draw near to God. He promises that as you do, He will draw near to you. What step of repentance or obedience is God calling you to take today?
