James 4:8a
Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.
James 4:8a
As I look back on my life as a Christian, I can think of some consistencies as well as a few inconsistencies. Daily prayer, Scripture reading, meditating on His words, and fellowship were all part of shaping my faith, and continue to be to this day. But one thing that stands out to me is that whenever I become inconsistent with any of those practices, I become further away from God. It is in those times that spiritual attacks seem to increase and my dependency on God shifts from Him to me.
We must keep God included throughout our day. In the same way an excited child runs to their parent to show them something they made in school, or if they just need a bandage from a bad fall, we need to be running to God in all areas of our life. The moment we take our eyes off of Him is the moment we put our eyes on the world. Draw near to the Father and He will draw near to you. Remember, it is never God that has walked away. He has always been right there with open arms waiting to embrace us.
God Bless,
