John 10:28
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.
John 10:28
Have you ever given away something that was so precious to you that you regretted giving it away in the first place? I remember once rummaging through a box of items at a yard sale only to come across a very expensive antique watch. I agreed to pay a few dollars for the item only to have the women stop me by car and cry out, “Wait, that watch shouldn’t have been in the box, it belongs to my husband, and he would have been so sad if I accidently sold it!” As disappointed as I was, I returned the watch to the seller.
I sure am glad that God has never asked for my salvation back. When God gives a gift, it is permanent. We can refuse to use the gift and let it lie dormant in us, or we can take what He has given us, and bless others with it. The same goes for our salvation. The gift of eternal life is permanent, and God will never come rushing to take it back. We also read in Romans 11:29, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.”
As sure as we cannot save ourselves, we cannot lose the gift of salvation God sent His Son to the cross to secure. At times we may feel far from God, but He is never far from us. Don’t let anyone or anything discourage you in what the Lord has called you to do. Know that He is always ready and willing to work through you because He has forever saved you. That is His promise.
God Bless,
