“I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.  Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit…  “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.

John 15:1-2, 5

Jesus invites us to make our home in Him—to abide, dwell, and remain as one with Him. Abiding is not passive; it’s an active choice to stay connected to the Vine. When life becomes confusing and overwhelming, simplify everything by focusing on one thing: resting in Jesus. Apart from Him, we can do nothing of eternal value. But connected to Him, we bear much fruit.

The Father prunes what is fruitful so it can bear even more. If you’re in a season of pruning, don’t pull away—abide more deeply. Your fruitfulness depends not on your effort but on your connection to Christ. Will you abide today, even when it’s uncomfortable?
