John 21:16, 19
He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I love You.”… And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me.”
John 21:16, 19
Jesus’ call to Peter was simple yet profound: “Follow Me.” This call transcends through the eons of time and still echoes in our hearts today. Like Peter, we’re invited to walk the same road as Jesus’ step-for-step, not always knowing where it leads, but confidently trusting the One who calls us.
In this passage, Jesus’ repeated question to Peter was, “Do you love Me?” This intimate exchange reveals that our calling is rooted in our love for Christ. It’s not about our abilities or worthiness, but about our devotion to Him. Know that nothing has changed and Jesus is still asking all of us the same question, “Do you love Me?”
Let your response fuel your commitment to obediently follow Him, wherever He may lead.
