John 21:17
He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonah, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I love You.” Jesus said to him, “Feed My sheep.”
John 21:17
Peter’s recommissioning by Jesus after his denial is a powerful reminder of God’s faithfulness and grace. Despite our failures, God continues to call us and use us for His purposes. So, how does that truth reflect on your own journey with Christ? Have there been times when you’ve felt unworthy or incapable of serving God. Like Peter, have you thought there was no hope for future restoration?
In those times of discouragement, you need to keep in mind that God’s call on your life is not based on your perfection, but on His perfect love and purpose for you. He’ll get you through those trying times and bring you back to a place of servanthood.
