John 4:46-47

John 4:46-47

So Jesus came again to Cana of Galilee where He had made the water to wine. And there was a certain nobleman whose son was sick at Capernaum. When he heard that Jesus had come out of Judea into Galilee, he went to Him and implored Him to come down to heal his son, for he was at the point of death.

John 4:46-47

We are told here that when Jesus came into Cana of Galilee, there was this certain nobleman who came to Him. We don’t know too much about this guy, but he was probably prominent and powerful. And this nobleman’s son was sick — very sick — and he desperately asked Jesus for help.

You know, it doesn’t matter who you are, what you have, where you are in life; we all will experience tough times and even tragedy in our lives. “The rain falls on the just and the unjust,” we are told in Matthew 5:45. No matter who we are, there are going to be tough times.

But the thing is, when we do go through those times, how are we going to act? Are we going to curse and run from God? Or are we going to run to God like this man did? It is so easy to run away and curse God when we go through tough times. I have seen so many people do it over the years! Yet, it is during the tough times that we ought to run to God.

I am running to you, Lord!
