Luke 18:1-5

Luke 18:1-5

Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart, saying: “There was in a certain city a judge who did not fear God nor regard man. Now there was a widow in that city; and she came to him, saying, ‘Get justice for me from my adversary.’ And he would not for a while; but afterward he said within himself, ‘Though I do not fear God nor regard man, yet because this widow troubles me I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.’ ”

Luke 18:1-5

Let’s take a moment today and examine our prayer life. Jesus modeled a life of consistent prayer, even in His busiest and most challenging moments. The parable of the persistent widow encourages us to pray continually and not lose heart. In your own life, how persistent are you in prayer? Do you tend to give up when answers seem delayed even though they could be right around the corner?

It’s important for all of us to develop a more consistent prayer life. Choose a specific need or concern and pledge to pray about it daily for the next week. Remember, prayer is not just about getting answers, but about deepening your relationship with God. As you pray, listen for His voice and be open to how He might be shaping you through the process.
