Luke 21:34-36

Luke 21:34-36

But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch therefore, and pray always that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will come to pass, and to stand before the Son of Man.

Luke 21:34-36

The Christian shouldn’t be overwhelmed by current events. If that is true, what should the Christian’s response be? In a world filled with distractions and concerns, Jesus calls us to “watch and pray.” This watchfulness isn’t about anxiously scanning the horizon for trouble but rather maintaining spiritual alertness and closeness to God.

What are the areas of your life where you may have become spiritually drowsy. Are you weighed down by the cares of this world? Ask God to renew your spiritual vigilance and to help you stay focused on Him amidst life’s challenges. Practice being present with God throughout your day, turning your thoughts to Him in moments of quiet and busyness alike.
