Luke 2:49

And He said to them, “Why did you seek Me?  Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?”

This was a turning point for Mary and Joseph when Jesus was twelve years old. Jesus said to them that day as they had been frantically looking for him, ”How could you think that I would be anywhere else, doing anything else, but God’s work? I must be about My Father’s business.”

This word “must” was often on Jesus’s lips.  ”I must preach (Luke 4:43).” ”The Son of Man must suffer (Luke 9:22).” ”The Son of Man must be lifted up (John 3:14).”  God has a plan for each of us.  And since God has called you and me, we must go. Amen? Let’s go about our Father’s business each and every day!
