Luke 5:30-32

Luke 5:30-32

And their scribes and the Pharisees complained against His disciples, saying, “Why do You eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Luke 5:30-32

For most of us we hate to go to the doctor and will put it off as long as possible. Jesus said He came not for the righteous, but for sinners. This statement reveals both our need for Him and His heart for the broken. How aware are you of your own spiritual sickness and need for the Great Physician? Know that Jesus isn’t afraid of our sin. Because He has the only answer and cure for it.

Today you might take some time to confess areas where you’ve tried to be “healthy” on your own, and invite Jesus into those places. Then from there consider: who in your life needs to experience the healing touch of Jesus? How can you be an instrument of His grace to them?
