Luke 6:12-13

Luke 6:12-13

Now it came to pass in those days that He went out to the mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God. And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles

Luke 6:12-13

Do you think prayer is important? That might have an obvious answer but if we were honest, how much do we really pray? Before choosing His disciples, Jesus spent the night in prayer. This teaches us that true ministry flows from intimacy with God. In our busy lives, it’s easy to prioritize doing things for God over being with God. Yet, like the disciples, our effectiveness comes from our closeness to Jesus.

Today, carve out some extended time for prayer. Seek God’s presence not only for what He can do through you, but for who He is. Meditate on His character and attributes. How might deepening your intimacy with God change your approach to serving Him?
