Mark 1:40-42

Mark 1:40-42

Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus, moved with compassion, stretched out His hand and touched him, and said to him, “I am willing; be cleansed.” As soon as He had spoken, immediately the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.

Mark 1:40-42

What happens when broken humanity comes face-to-face with Jesus? Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus moved with compassion for those in need. He wasn’t deterred by religious traditions or societal norms when it came to helping people. This reveals the heart of God – a heart of tender mercy toward us in our brokenness.

We so desperately need to realize God’s compassion for us personally. Sometimes we struggle to believe in His love and care? But if we’ll sit still for a moment, the Holy Spirit can give you a fresh revelation of Jesus’ compassion. As you receive His love, consider how you might extend that same compassion to others around you who are hurting.
